The former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje has tested negative for the novel coronavirus, the leader of the BJP posted on social media tonight. Nevertheless, Mrs. Raje, 67, and her friend, BJP MP Dushyant Singh, 46, will remain isolated as a “preventive measure” for the next 15 days, she said.
“After carrying out a COVID-19 test, I am pleased to inform you that the results have returned negative, but as a protective measure, my son and I will continue to be in isolation for 15 days,” she said.
Vasundhara Raje, Dushyant Singh and a host of senior politicians were left shocked after it emerged that famous Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor had attended a dinner they had attended in Lucknow earlier this week.
Ms. Kapoor reported on Friday she was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus or COVID-19. “When I was in Lucknow, I attended a dinner with my son Dushyant at his in-laws. Kanika, who unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19, was also a guest. As a matter of great caution, my son and I immediately quarantined themselves and we are taking all the requisite precautions,” said Vasundhara Raje Friday.
